Introducing the Corsair K70 Max
The Corsair K70 Max is a keyboard that stands out for its many customisation options. The most impressive of these is undoubtedly its adjustable Corsair MGX switches, which allow you to define the actuation point of each key between 0.4 mm and 3.6 mm.

Whether you’re looking for a sensitive or more robust typing experience, there’s something for everyone. There’s also dual-point activation, which lets you assign two distinct actions to a single key, ideal for performing complex actions in competitive games.
What’s more, like the K65 Pro Mini, this keyboard is equipped with AXON Hyper-Processing technology, which transmits keystrokes almost instantaneously – 8 times faster than a standard keyboard. In short, the K70 Max will appeal to demanding gamers who are looking for performance and want to rank in their favourite competitive games.

Other very interesting features
As well as having some pretty convincing switches, the Corsair K70 Max has a whole host of very interesting features.
Let’s start with its design, which fits in perfectly with the brand’s usual range. Whether it’s the aluminium plate with its beautiful engravings, the dedicated media keys or the volume dial, there’s no doubt that this is Corsair.
The media in Corsair K70 keys and scroll wheel are once again part of the game |
When it comes to typing, the experience is a pleasant one, with two layers of sound damping underneath the aluminium plate to enhance the acoustics of the already very quiet linear switches. And the keycaps are made of PBT Double-Shot, designed to resist wear and discolouration. A nice touch!
The Corsair K70 Max is also equipped with 8 MB of memory, allowing complex macros to be recorded and up to 50 profiles to be configured with their own actions and lighting effects. All of which can be set up using the famous iCUE software.
The K70 Max is also equipped with a ‘Tournament’ switch that allows you to deactivate macros and switch to static lighting to encourage concentration, something I find practical and quite well thought out. Finally, this keyboard comes with a detachable wrist rest with memory foam, which is always a nice touch, especially when it provides extra comfort during heavy gaming sessions.
Opinions on the Corsair K70 Max
There’s no denying it, the Corsair K70 Max is a very good keyboard with a whole host of very convincing features.
The Corsair K70 Max engravings on the aluminium plate are extremely attractive |
I particularly like its adjustable switches, which are capable of registering two distinct actions depending on the pressure applied. It’s really great, because it lets you enjoy sensations that you’d only get with triggers or analogue sticks.
- Want to walk? Just press the Z button lightly.
- Want to run? No problem, just press harder.
And that’s just one example of the many possibilities offered by this keyboard. Unfortunately, all this comes at a price, and as usual with Corsair, the price of the K70 Max is around $230. It’s worth noting that, for this price, you can find wireless devices from some of our competitors.
That said, investing in equipment of this quality is still a very good investment if you can afford it. So it’s up to you to weigh up the pros and cons.
