Nearly ready will be the newest iPhones. Although the precise time of Apple’s iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max unveiling has not yet been announced,
I am confident it will take place on Tuesday, September 12—full information is available here. It’s possible that one of the phones will be late, the Pro models will receive an enticing major upgrade, and the range might include one unexpected absence.
We still have a lot to learn, though. However, the colors for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have finally been made public, providing another piece of the puzzle.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro
9to5Mac’s reliable Zac Hall has detailed exactly what colours we can expect the iPhone 15 Pro to appear in. We’ve already heard about the colours in which the iPhone 15 might be available (and the possibility of longer, stronger, braided, colour-matched cables).
But the details about the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are different. Indeed, it looks like the shiny stainless steel antenna strip of all previous iPhone Pros will be replaced by a new material for the iPhone. This year, we could see a titanium iPhone.
This change should result in stronger and lighter iPhones than before. Because titanium looks different, it’s likely that the range of colours will be updated and one popular colour could be dropped: gold.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Report
My favorite iPhones have always been the gold Pro models. Some people find the glitz and shine to be too over the top, but I adore the gaudy, opulent sheen.
But I recognize that the change to titanium’s natural matte sheen may have rendered a gold-tinted version less suitable.
Additionally, it appears that deep purple will no longer be an option for Pro iPhones in 2023. This is less of a shock because Apple typically only sells its hero color for a single model year, like the Sierra Blue iPhone 13 Pro.

Where does that leave us? According to the article, titanium will go nicely with the silver and space black variants, which is hardly surprising. The Series 7 space black titanium Apple Watch Edition was gorgeous.
Another hue that I can picture combining well with titanium is a dark blue shade. Finally, according to 9to5Mac, there will be a fourth hue, which may be referred to as titan gray. We’ll see. I’m not sure how I feel about that name.
It appears to have a raw titanium appearance that is lighter than space black but darker than silver. It would probably replace the titanium of the Apple Watch Ultra the closest. This year’s whole color update differs significantly from prior years, which makes it even more exciting.
Apple iPhone 15 price
The iPhone 15 range is set to be Apple’s most expensive iPhone ever, and a new price shock has just been revealed.
In a new exclusive, Digitimes’ sources confirm the potential $200 increase for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but also indicate that the iPhone 15 Pro is unlikely to escape the hike with a $100 jump.
This increase had already been mooted for the iPhone 15 Pro, but it fell flat when it emerged that Apple’s aim was to widen the gap between the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, with the latter boasting the company’s first 10x optical zoom camera. There’s also speculation that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be rebranded as the iPhone 15 Ultra to mark this new difference.
If Digitimes is correct, prices for the iPhone 15 range will be as follows:
- iPhone 15: from 799
- iPhone 15 Plus: from 899
- iPhone 15 Pro: from $1,099
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: from €1,299
- The price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max could also rise to almost $2,000 if leaks about a new two-terabyte storage option are confirmed.
The new prices should change things. The iPhone 15 Pro will cost $300 more than an iPhone 15, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra $400 more than the iPhone 14 Plus.
Why is Apple doing this? Sales of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, while up in recent months, have been less than satisfactory. The price of the iPhone 14 Plus is $100 less than the iPhone 14 Pro, and the difference becomes insignificant over an average two-year operator contract. Apple applies similar profit margins to all iPhone models, so an even spread of demand is the best solution for its supply chain.
Conclusion
Of course, getting the balance right is difficult, but Apple hopes that its relatively mild iPhone 14 Pro-inspired upgrades to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus (Dynamic Island design, 48MP camera, A16 chip) will contrast sufficiently with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max (super-thin edges, USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, faster charging, titanium chassis) to create clear value distinctions.
